Kahili Golf Course previously named Sandalwood Golf Course, is a Public, 18 hole golf course located in WAILUKU, Hawaii.
The 6570 yard, Par 72 was constructed in 1991 and designed by Robin Nelson and Rodney Wright.
The Par 3's on the back side lay up and downhill to small greens. On the front side, a small dry creek bed and a lake come into play; accuracy is a must. The Par 4s are designed to make the golfer work to get to the greens in regulation. There are many elevation changes combined with doglegs in both directions. The Par 5s are designed to give the long ball hitter a chance for a birdie or possibly an eagle.

Kahili was the surprise of the 4 rounds of golf my sons and I played on Maui. The 35 dollar price was an extreme bargain. Overall this is an outstanding course. We really enjoyed the course and it had enough challenging holes to make you think your way around

This was the 3rd time I have played here. They were running a $75 special for non-locals due to the economy, which makes ita screaming deal! You are always playing either down wind or into it... and the wind can really howl here..up to 30-40mph!

This course is a great bargain for people who live in Maui. Not so much of a bargain for tourists, yet priced better than many of the resort courses. Greens are the best in Maui, aside from private courses. Layout is exceptionl, forces you to use all your clubs during a round. Sometimes a bit windy, but adds to the challenge. Try it, you Will like it. Jim

The name of this course is now KAHILI. This is one of the best kept secrets on Maui! Great layout, great views at times you feel as though you have the course to yourself! You can see both side of the island from some of the holes. The wind will blow here and you are always with or against.. no houses at all on the course and a great patio for lunch after the round. Try it.. you will like it!

Found my old score card and had to write about it. Played when it was Sandalwood GC for my son-in-law, Kevin Daly's "Bachelor" golf outing. What a hilly layout (Great views) with great greens that broke every which way, no matter how many looks you took. Son Barry had a 375yd drive on #12 and a 2 putt Birdie to finish the hole. I shot 87/35 putts from the back tees at 6,570yds / 70.6 / 129 slope on a 80 degree morning w/ John Daly taking honors at 84/34 putts . Very fair landing areas with good size greens made it a enjoyable day for all. Good to read that its still worth playing years after we played in 2003 @ $50 ($30 Club Rental) and it was a deal back then.
